Karina Castagna

Vice President

Karina Castagna, a healthcare leader, is dedicated to driving innovation and advancing education. Born in Mexico, and growing up in Oxnard, California, she became the first in her family to graduate from college, eventually earning her MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, Karina serves as the Senior Vice President of commercial strategy at Mercalis, a lifesciences company.


Karina's inspirational journey highlights the profound impact of early childhood education and the transformative power it holds. Her story serves as a testament to the boundless potential that every child possesses when given the right opportunities and support.


Her past board service includes roles with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Los Angeles, FoodShare of Ventura County, and the Red Cross of Ventura County.


Karina's unwavering commitment to healthcare innovation, education, and community service makes her a vital asset to our organization. Her story continues to inspire and drive our mission to make a difference in the lives of children in Ventura County.
